Game 7734, Starchild vs. Dreadsquid

Passions were ignited when Starchild referred to the German forces as "little gray guys"

Germany 7

Production (28): 9inf, save (1).

Combat:

1) East Europe (2inf)
w/
25 inf f/Ger
10 arm f/Ger

-> EEu taken with 25inf, 10arm.
(Can you say squished like a bug, sure, I knew you could.  Thats what you get for calling us little.)

 UK 7

Her Majesties troops take offense to the "squished like a bug" statement and order cockroach armor sent to all troops.

Howdy,

Your mockery shall be your undoing.

Germany 8

2) Ukraine (1inf)
w/
2inf f/EEu
2ftr f/Ger

-> Ukr held with 1inf.  2ftr to land.
(AAaaaarrrrggghhhh)

 UK 8

NEWSFLASH: BRITISH COCKROACH ARMOR A SUCCESS!!!!  Recent developements in Eastern Europe prompted the Germans to make the now infamous "squished like a bug" remark. Her Majesties Royal troops took offense to this and issued a "test" suit of cockroach armor to the lone Infantryman in the Ukraine. The Germans attacked this seemingly defenseless man with overwhelming force (1 of my odds calculators had that battle as a 100% victory for the Germans, the other 2 had it at 98%)!  YET......the Brit lives while 2 stunned luftwaffe pilots scurry back to the Fatherland! Apparently, while the attacking land units are too busy laughing at the ridiculous get up to fight.....the glare off the armor temporarily blinds the air attackers into missing for as many rounds as it takes for the Brit to kill the land units. Startling discovery your Majesty, our hats off to you.

Convention game, AARommel vs. Komp

I remember (maybe you were there) when the group was into a group discussion on several topics.  At the time I was playing
AARommel (at least I was sitting across from him).  The group discussion turned to WD, it's pros/cons, cost versus value,
etc.  I stated (since I was being blasted by AARommel) that "I'd have to borrow money to buy Weapons Development rolls."
Anyone who has played AARommel has felt this way so the group could relate to how I was feeling.

EK ~ I know precisely how you felt, Komp.  I also had the misfortune of merely 'sitting across the table' from AARommel. :)

Game 7776, DeBruce vs. Hoquista

I will be bringing charges of witchcraft against you at the next meeting they
have in the chat room. Only a black magician of one of the higher orders,
could have done what you just did.

I've decided to send a copy of this to havoc, something must be done about
this! Using witchcraft to influence the outcome of games.
This threatens the very fabric of the game. This could lead to a breakup of
the IAAPA, and what then, An end to civilization as we know it? And to
prevent this cataclysmic event I say  Burn the Witches!!!

PS  I surrender, you bastard! "Your mother darns socks in hell."

EK ~ I'm confused.  The defender's rolls look average for one of my rolls....but why would the attacker concede?

I apparently caught High Cmmdr in the middle of some shopping when he was attending IAAPA's convention in Las Vegas.  I called him on his cell phone and he seemed quite surprised as he asked, "How'd you know I was at Wal-mart?"

The first day of the convention was such a bust for the Knight, that I contemplated hiding out for the rest of the weekend.  My first 3 games were against Rewstr, Spud, and AARommel.  The results were not pretty.  I managed to get a group shot of these 3 masters, which can be found among the other photos taken at the convention....but for a sneak peak:   Three Generals

To take a peak at the rest of the pics from the convention, check out the Convention Photos link on the Knight Site.

There are now 6 members of the Century Club in IAAPA.  AxisSpec, DWJD, Polaris, PT-109, ToddVomit, and Tusk have each completed at least 100 games in IAAPA.  What's the matter with the rest of you....don't you like this game?

Knight Muse

The Knight has been in a blue funk as of late, wondering if the demise of IAAPA prediction made many months ago might not be coming true.

Contributions to Havoc were very limited.

Less than 20 folks showed up for the convention.

Only 12 people signed up for the Summer Open tourney.

A large number of the gamestarts over the last month or so seemed to include my alter ego, AxisSpec.

Maybe it's because it's summertime and everyone has something better to do ~ tho I can't imagine what...but I certainly hope this seeming lack of interest doesn't foreshadow the end of IAAPA.  Where else am I gonna get an opponent for A&A?

Knight Mail

Hey there, Knight.  I caught your little comment in Havoc 16 about getting  too old and worn out for your job (or some bunk like that), so I just wanted  to drop a few words of praise.  I haven't been around here very long, but I  very much enjoy reading your monthly 'zine.  The second-best part of A&A is  the humor that springs from the game.  It's wonderful to have someone out  there who takes the time to compile it and share it with the rest of the membership.  And on top of that, you write cool little funny things all by yourself.

I really appreciate what you do.  You're one of the people that make the IAAPA something special.  Thanks.  And thanks for posting my little game excerpt.

                                                        ~Sephorin

EK ~ Thanks for your support Sephorin.  As long as I have fun putting the Havoc together I will be around.

The pieces of broken glass were being picked up from the streets outside of the castle until the early hours of the morning after the big one. The ladies of the knight were in the showers washing off the odors of
their work.
The cheap perfume flowing down the drain on its way to the desert.
The crumpled bodies of the defeated stumbled to the transportation carriages to take them back from were they came.
The acrid mist which hung over the Kingdom waited for the dry desert winds to shoo them away.
The tales of broken dreams and hard earned victories still on the minds of many
how sweet, success is for the Knight and his Squire

                                                        ~Sohoa

EK ~ Unfortunately, success was not so abundant for the Knight...

Recon Squad

IAAPA Havoc has a severe shortage of intelligence and desperately needs reconnaissance volunteers.  Please include your IAAPA alias with all correspondence.  Space limitations (and reader's attention spans) hinder the chances of extremely long submissions being printed.  Less is more!

All intelligence reports should be forwarded to the S-3 Officer at:
