Ummmm. Ooops!
It's August 31st! I better get to work on
IAPPA Havoc
Notes From the Front
Game 6542
GM: CRAZYFUST
Axis: UberRalph
Allies: jk@
After going to a club web-chat seminar on bad dice and what to do
about
em. At which place i did spout off about how i thought that
generally
the dice even out, bad dice is a bogus excuse for not understanding
probability etc. blah blah ... The first turn i recieved back
next was
what i thought was a nice conservative russian turn 1.
The results of the only 2 attacks...

Absolutely miserable start for the Allies! hope they can recover!
-Jimmy
Ps the next turn, G1 was perty unfavorable too.
........We always remember our extremely poor
results Jimmy. My
personal worst was in the game which I lost
both Russian fighters AND
both UK fighters in the Baltic.....and never
scored a hit! As you
mentioned, however, the Law of Probability
says that these things will
happen eventually, but not very often.

Olly suggested sharing my unpleasant experience with the dice so
far in
Game
6511. These were just the large fights. Smaller battles are holding
to
the theme. All larger #s are Olly's, I suspect Witchcraft.
If any of
your other readers have had similar experiences with Olly, please
meet
me in the town square with some torches.
DeBruce -)->
.....Not Witchcraft, DeBruce. Perks.
Olly is a full-fledged Robe.
This automatically entitles him to the " -1

for Executives"(TADRIE) as outlined in MicWilMemo

Game 6263
Axis: EJGusto
Allies: compwar
This should have a lot of intresting things to put in the havoc.
First
there was the "super Transport" It killed a BB then the next turn
after
16 rounds or so it killed a trn and a CV. Finally a super
sub kiiled
it. The game was a long one going into its 17 turn.
take a look at the
log and maybe you can find some more intresting things. The
axis had
heavy bombers and industrial tech and still lost. The only
item the
allies had was rockets for the USA. The Japanese roll three
dice for
tech and got 3 6 getting-heavy b. long r, and super sub.
SUper long range bomber the most deadly item there is.

.....Looks like most of my games against HighCmmdr.

Knight Muse
August was not the best of times for yours truly, but the Knight
is the
mother of all optimists.....at least when I'm in character.
For those of you who've been living in a cave the last couple of
weeks,
a certain lunatic has returned to haunt the halls of IAAPA.
According
to him, he is STILL in the club under several names, but you may
have
played him as TylerS, KrnlShultz, or even GenPyle. Since his
medication
was apparently working while he was assuming the guise of GenPyle,
he
actually even managed to get appointed as a Minister of Law ~
specializing in getting IAAPA started in the sanctioning of CD-ROM
play.
I've played him under all of the above names.....and who knows how
many
others.....and always found him to be a very cordial player ~ when
he
was WINNING. If he began to lose, however, he would start
whining about
the dice and/or take cheap shots in order to improve his position.
I've
never heard him admit to losing a game through any poor decisions
on his
own part ~ not even the game in which I captured the UK on G2!
He
claimed that dice won the game for me, although I still believe
it was
because he left Great Britain wide open....
I have always said that I joined this club to play......and the fact
that I dropped from Gen* all the way down to CPT tells you something
about my play :) I don't care, however. I just enjoy
playing the game,
and I prefer the challenge of playing the Axis. I discovered
one day
that I had 7 Axis games going, and one Allied. So I changed
my name
from AnAGamer to AxisSpclst....and then AxisSpec.
When I went to Salt Lake City and visited with Lord Pez and HighCmmdr
I
mentioned that I'd enjoy creating the Havoc. I thought it
would be fun
to create a character to be the author of the Havoc, and so Errnt
Knt
was born ~ but since GenPyle/KrnlShultz/TylerS/ParanoidSchizo decided
to
let the secret out ~ I might as well share it with the few of you
who
haven't heard. I'll still try to keep the character going,
because it's
more fun that way. Contrary to GenPyle's delusions, I have
never hidden
behind a mask, nor done anything improper to discredit either IAAPA,
Spring 1942, or myself. Nor did EK ever play a game against
anyone in
IAAPA, or Spring 1942, except for an unofficial game against RobertBrink
who guessed my identity before the game was over. AxisSpec
has one
identity........and Errnt Knt is a non-entity known as a pen-name.
GenPyle apparently doesn't understand the difference between his
unethical use of several identities and my use of a pseudonym.
It's been fun while it lasted......and it will still be fun in the
future, I hope. Thanks for all your support in my first 7
issues of
Havoc. I'll keep them coming as long as you guys enjoy them,
or until I
get a serious case of writer's block :)
Let's play!
EK/AS
P.S. We voted. Did you?
Knight Mail
I think it is really poor sportmanship when you start a game with
a
person who has ranked them selve's as a cheeta, but as the game
start's
to go against them they go from 1 turn in 24 hrs. to 1 turn in about
a
week and even then you have to prompt them to take a turn.
I would
understand if they ask for a postponment, but just slowing the game
down
due to the fact that it is not going your way is just holding player's
back.

.....Argh! You just revealed my strategy
in my game against NobleKnt!
:) It's coming, it's coming!!
I always wondered if this move would be of any value.
USSR 1- buy 1 BB in Caspian Sea
~ Tel
.....Absolutely! I think you should try
it in your next game. (I'm
just waiting for you to accept the challenge
from the website.)
Hi, I just have a few questions about A&A.
1) can a aa with rockets move and then fire its rockets at an IC?
2) can a aa with rockets fire its rockets at an IC and then move?
3) can a aa with rockets move into a newly conquered territory?
THANX!!

Hmmm. Let me pull out that Clarifications
sheet. No, wait! I'll check
out the rules on the website! Yes.
Yes. Yes. (I think. :) John?
Recon Squad
Do you have an interesting or humorous A&A story? Is there
something
that makes your blood pressure skyrocket and your face turn purple?
Would you enjoy sharing/warning other IAAPA members? The IAAPA
Havoc
has a severe shortage of intelligence and desperately needs
reconnaissance volunteers. Contributions will be accredited
to either
your email address, or preferably your Association Alias.
All
intelligence reports should be forwarded thru channels to the S-3
Officer at:
