Aircraft Carrier Information

The Essentials of Aircraft Carriers

Aircraft carriers are the backbone of the defence of any navy. While they only attack at '1', they defend at '3' and have the special capability of holding up to 2 fighters on their decks which can greatly assist in defending a sea zone. Like all other naval units, ACs have 2 movement points.

Frequently Asked Questions about Aircraft Carriers

  1. Q: If an aircraft carrier participates in an attack on a sea zone, and is carrying allied fighters as cargo, can they participate in the attack?
A: No, the allied units can assist in defending, but not in attacking.

  2. Q: There is a defending fighter located on an defending aircraft carrier. During battle the carrier is sunk in combat but the fighter survives. What happens to the fighter?
A: The fighter now has the option to land on a different aircraft carrier that is located within the same sea zone or it may elect to land on an island, if one is present. To qualify as an island the body of land must be located entirely within that sea zone. If there is no additional carrier or island then the fighter is lost.
