THE HAVOC CRIER

Election Platform : RedDwarf

Greetings Havoc readers,

Here is my Presidential platform, the things I believe need fixing, improving or introduced.

# 1 - Conduct a one on one introduction to all govt members. Ask a few questions, mostly about their offices and the club issues important to them. What kind of contacts they have in the A&A community (ie - officials from other clubs, Hasbro etc, just so I know who to turn to for help / knowledge / opening lines of communication when it is needed

With knowledge of our govt members skills and personal agendas (in so far as what they wish to accomplish at the club) then I can make informed decisions on who to ask to do whatever jobs and projects that will be surfacing during the coming year.

#2 - CD-ROM, where do we go from here?.

#3 - A follow up on #1 is to ask all govt members to supply a brief, simple description of what they do and how they go about doing it. Then I would display these in the govt info section. Why?. Because all of the political jargon there now does nothing to inspire members to volunteer their services. Perhaps a simple, positive statement from the current office holder will encourage potential new volunteers in the future or at least they may get an idea of what we do.

#4 - I have some questions about the number of rookies in the DB who have yet to play a game yet to my knowledge have been members for quite some time.

#5 - Expand the promotion of the IAAPA into new areas. Local chapters and few other lines of inquiries that will be pursued.

#6 - Skilled personnel. One major IAAPA asset that most of you take for granted is Mike our Webmaster being overburdened. He needs some assistance from someone with the necessary skills. I haven't discussed this with Micwil but perhaps a non-skilled volunteer can be taught a few of the basics so as to relieve him of some of his responsibilities.

#7 - Interclub tournaments. IAAPA established what is potentially an annual interclub event vs DAAK with the Rivals on the Rhine tournament. I would like to explore the possibility of further such events with other internet clubs.

#8 - Look into expanding the IAAPA to include other games especially Shogun, A&A Pacific and Europe. The extent of development will depend on how positively the members respond to future efforts on this subject.

#9 - Ensure that all govt offices are relevant. By this I mean that a beneficial service is being performed for the club and the holder of offices are not sitting around getting bored or despondent by a lack of work or membership feedback or whatever.

#10 - Attempt to introduce a voluntary "Tour of Duty" system where members can volunteer to become an assistant to a government office for a small period of time (say about three months perhaps?) and receive on the job training. This may have several beneficial side effects

a) create a pool of potential replacements in case of an emergency e.g. - a burn out or the passing of a govt member.
b) A volunteer may decide to become a permanent fixure of the govt.
c) Prevent or slowdown the burnout of our serving govt members.

#11 - Bid package Scenarios. Developed by our best players these optional scenarios will add new life to A&A and could inspire players to plow fresh strategic fields. This would be the IAAPA version of Spring's Kremlin Db.

Thank you for taking the time in reading my platform and I hope you will consider voting for me in March.

rgds, RedDwarf
